Our focus has been on producing trouble-free, efficient cattle that excel in calving ease and maternal strengths and are growthy, easy-fleshing and have excellent temperaments. We like bulls that are thick, rugged and masculine. We like females that are feminine-fronted, deep-bodied, easy-maintenance cows which wean calves weighing a high percentage of their body weight and breed back on time every year. We like calves that come easy and are vigorous and grow well from the time they hit the ground. We believe these are the type of cattle that possess traits of utmost economic importance to commercial beef cattle producers and can enhance your bottom line profitability.
We determine our breeding program on maternal and growth traits first; yet, we feel carcass EPDs are becoming increasingly important tools to enhance the profitability of commercial cow-calf operations as value-based marketing continues to evolve within the feeding and packing segments of the beef industry. |
